Daily Shoot image capturing symmetry

Symmetry can be calm and soothing. Make a photo today featuring symmetry, either in subject or composition. (@logista)

I’m fired up about today’s shot, and not so much because the image is so beautiful—though I like it—but because 12 is my lucky number, and two twelves in a row? Doubly lucky. My cat is named 12, and if it were up to me my first born would have been named twelve, and my birthday falls on the twelfth day. More than that, 1212 is an anagram for 2112 which makes me think of Rush, which then makes me think of Andy Rush. There is a lot to both this image and this number, obviously. Symmetry is just the surface.

Symmetry through the Ages

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Old School

I ended up with three photos for today’s Daily Shoot assignment.  Although I ultimately chose the image above, I realized there was an image story connected to the pictures I’d taken: symmetry through time! More specifically, I ended up with a Ginkgo leaf, a weathered column, and a key pad, and, to me, these images narrate the endurance of symmetry from the Permian to the present!

This is the pedestrian bridge to get to Eagle Village. I could not get it without people walking so I hope that is ok! I think it is pretty symmetrical?

I guess it has Symmetry

I guess this has some symmetry just pretend your cutting it in half and it works.

Oh and this is my first time using a photo-shopping for this assignment, let me know what you think!

In Snow

Today’s entry is supposed to show symmetry. This was the view of my front yard from our picture window on December 19, 2009. I never realized how perfectly centered this Dogwood was when I took the shot. Although the symmetry isn’t 100%, I still think it looks pretty good. Oh and this is the same tree in my previous entry “In Bloom.” Looks a little different in the winter eh?
