Assignment 5: The Royal Tenenbaums

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, is one of my favorite movies, however it proved to be quite difficult to put into only six images. The movie is pretty odd itself, so if after seeing the six images you think to yourself, “I don’t understand…” or “This seems kind of weird…” then you’ve got a pretty good idea of the movie. I also decided to put the DVD cover as the last image because that picture of everyone, each character with his or her own idiosyncrasies, really defines the movie.

Toy Story 3, My Life Story

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Ok so I love movies, my absolute favorite movie would have to be Australia, but that has such a complex plot that I would not be able to do it justice in 6 pictures. However Toy Story 3 has become a close runner due to the fact that I feel so connected to the Toy Story movies because I have grown up with Andy; when he was a kid, I was a kid, when he went to college I went to college. I also feel like I have Toy Story to blame/thank for my inability to get rid of my childhood toys because I feel like the memories will slip away with them, and in the end they will feel betrayed by me. I guess I need take Andy’s lead and move on to the chapter of my life despite it being hard to let go of my old friends. I guess I take my cartoons a little too seriously, but what can I say it is me! So here are my pictures I wasn’t able to find all of the ones I wanted, but I think its pretty good:

Man on Fire (2004) Directed by Tony Scott. This is not necessarily my favorite movie but one of my favorites.

Ponyo

???

These 6 screen shots are from the Disney movie Ponyo, directed by Miyazaki, and are supposed to tell the story of Ponyo. I picked this movie because I enjoy watching his films, and because it was the one available on Netflix, so it was easy to watch and get the screen shots!
